As I was preparing for Christmas these last couple of weeks, I was reminded of a fond memory. Unlike most of us, my oldest daughter Lyndzee does not like surprises and has never been willing to wait to see what she got for Christmas.
Since she was little, Lyndzee would search our house and look for the presents marked with her name. Then she would carefully peel the wrapping back just enough to see what was inside. Once we discovered what was happening my wife and I had to resort to labeling her presents with the names of her brothers and sisters. This provided many hilarious moments on Christmas morning when Lyndzee would be truly surprised as she watched her siblings unwrap “her present’s” until she finally received her real presents.
During the holidays we generally enjoy being pleasantly surprised when we receive a gift. We love the excitement and the thrill of unwrapping a present and discovering what’s inside. However, when it comes to sales, no one likes surprises.
In a perfect world, we want to know well in advance, what our sales and marketing efforts will produce. In sales it is very important to have the tools and reports that can tell us what has happened and more importantly, what will happen if we continue on our current path. Armed with good reliable information we want to have the have time to monitor our plans, evaluate marketing strategies and adjust sales efforts to ensure we meet our goals and avoid surprises.
Recently, I had a sales consulting client who was concerned that their sales pipeline was not sufficient to meet their goals and could not afford to be surprised. This company had just started using the Move-n sales software and had not yet used their phenomenal forecasting tools and reports. Click here to learn more about Move-n Analytics. I found that the Move-n sales reports were easy to use and had important information the company needed to make proactive decisions and address their situation head on. In just a short time we were able to review the company’s performance to date and develop and clear plan of action for going forward.
I know that we all have made plans to achieve even more in 2018 and if you want to avoid surprises after the holidays, maybe you should check out Move-n too?
